What can go in?

Keep it simple: paper and cardboard, approved plastic bottles and jugs, metal cans, and glass bottles or jars. Place items loose in the cart, empty and dry containers, and flatten cardboard whenever possible.

01

Paper & cardboard

Office paper, newspapers, junk mail, magazines, catalogs, envelopes, paperboard boxes, and flattened cardboard that is clean and dry.

02

#1 PET plastics

Water and soda bottles, plus certain clear food containers marked with the #1 recycling symbol.

03

#2 HDPE plastics

Milk jugs, detergent jugs, shampoo bottles, and similar household bottles marked #2.

04

Metal

Aluminum cans, steel or tin cans, empty aerosol cans, and clean aluminum foil without food residue.

05

Glass bottles & jars

Clear, green, and brown glass bottles and jars. Please empty them before placing them in the cart.

Not everything with a recycling symbol belongs in the cart.

These items can contaminate a recycling load, damage sorting equipment, or require a separate disposal method.

Helpful tip

When in doubt, throw it out.

Leaving one questionable item out is better than contaminating the rest of the recyclable material in your cart.
